Welcome to Earl Frost Elementary School, home of the Fantastic Falcons. As we enter the 2014-2015 school year, Frost Elementary embarks on its 50th Anniversary, a major milestone in our history. This year, we look forward to honoring the rich and diverse history of our school while creating an innovative and fresh environment that looks to the future for inspiration.
Our mission at Frost is to ensure that every child’s potential is achieved. The entire Frost Team is dedicated to creating a nurturing and rigorous environment which enables each child to develop academically, socially, and emotionally. Frost teachers works collaboratively to design and implement curriculum to engage students through purposeful common core standards aligned units. Every lesson is inspired with developing the following skills in each child:
- Learning Skills – critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication
- Literacy Skills – information literacy, media literacy, and technology literacy
- Life Skills – flexibility, initiative, social skills, productivity, and leadership
Frost Falcon’s also live by the motto that every Falcon will be Respectful, Responsible, Safe, and Make Good Choices. We are entering our second year of our school wide behavior management initiative called Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports or PBIS. Our system is built on teaching and encouraging positive social skills and behaviors to ensure a safe and productive environment for everyone. It is our firm belief that students will thrive in an environment where consistent expectation for behavior have been communicated, explicitly taught, and positively reinforced by all members of the Frost Team.
The Frost Family is made complete by having the best group of parents and families in the entire county. We offer a variety of opportunities for families to have a voice, get involved, and help shape our school. We look forward to the continued growth and development of Home and School Club, Hispanic Parent Group, Koffee Klatch, School Side Council, and Classroom Parents group. As we begin the journey of the 2014-2015 school year, I want to thank you for your belief, commitment, and support to making this year meaningful and memorable. Every step we take together this school year will be one step closer to the future dreams of each of our children. Collectively, there are no limits to how high every Falcon can soar!
